Info Edge Share Price Rises After Q2 FY27 Business Update: Billings, Naukri and What to Watch
The Info Edge share price rose 3.1% to close at ₹1,219 on the NSE on Friday, October 9, 2026, after the Naukri.com parent reported a 12.8% year-on-year rise in standalone billings to ₹822.3 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27). The stock touched an intraday high of ₹1,235. Billings from the recruitment business, which runs Naukri, grew 12.6% to ₹613.8 crore, according to the company's regulatory filing reported by Business Standard.
Billings are an early signal of revenue, so investors watch them closely before the full results. What do these numbers say about hiring demand and the non-recruitment businesses? Let's break it down.
Key Takeaways
- Q2 FY27 standalone billings: ₹822.3 crore, up 12.8% from ₹729 crore a year earlier.
- Recruitment solutions billings: ₹613.8 crore, up 12.6% from ₹545 crore.
- H1 FY27 billings: ₹1,559.3 crore, up 13.5% from ₹1,373.2 crore.
- GoPocket calculation: non-recruitment billings rose about 13.3% to ₹208.5 crore, and total billings grew about 11.6% from Q1 FY27.
What Are Billings, and Why Do They Matter?
Billings are the value of invoices raised to customers in a period. Info Edge sells annual and multi-month subscriptions, for example to recruiters using Naukri. It bills customers upfront but recognises the revenue over the subscription period. So billings act as a leading indicator: a rise today usually feeds into reported revenue over the coming quarters.
What Did Info Edge Report for Q2 FY27?
| Standalone billings (₹ crore) | Q2 FY27 | Q2 FY26 | YoY change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total | 822.3 | 729.0 | +12.8% |
| Recruitment solutions (Naukri and others) | 613.8 | 545.0 | +12.6% |
| Non-recruitment (99acres, Jeevansathi, Shiksha and others)* | 208.5 | 184.0 | +13.3% |

For the first half of FY27, total standalone billings were ₹1,559.3 crore against ₹1,373.2 crore in H1 FY26, a 13.5% increase.
GoPocket Analysis: Three Things the Numbers Show
1. Recruitment is still about three-quarters of billings. Recruitment made up about 74.6% of Q2 billings (₹613.8 crore of ₹822.3 crore). That means Naukri's trend largely decides how the whole company performs.
2. The other businesses kept pace. Subtracting recruitment from the total, non-recruitment billings grew about 13.3% to ₹208.5 crore. The filing figures available to us don't split this between 99acres, Jeevansathi and Shiksha, so we can't say which business drove it.
3. A strong sequential step-up. Q1 FY27 billings work out to ₹737 crore (H1 of ₹1,559.3 crore minus Q2's ₹822.3 crore). Q2 was therefore about 11.6% higher than Q1. Some of that may be seasonal, since billing cycles vary through the year.
Why Did the Info Edge Stock React?
Double-digit billings growth came at a time when IT hiring, a big source of Naukri's demand, has been under pressure from muted IT services growth. The update suggested demand held up better than some feared. The broader market also helped: the Nifty 50 rose 1.3% on October 9.
Nuvama had expected 13.7% year-on-year revenue growth in Q2 FY27, with recruitment revenue up 15.1%, Business Standard reported. Billings growth of 12.6% in recruitment is a little below that revenue estimate, though billings and revenue are different measures. Reported revenue will show how close the estimate was.

Risks and Limitations
- Billings are not revenue or profit. Margins and costs will only be clear in the full results.
- Hiring demand is cyclical and closely tied to the IT services sector.
- Info Edge's consolidated results also reflect its investee companies, which billings don't capture.
- Any technical targets quoted by analysts in media reports are personal views; GoPocket does not endorse them.
