About this class
Every option’s price is the sum of several forces acting at once: how far the market moves, how fast, how much time is left and how nervous the market is. The Greeks are simply the names for those forces.
This session takes them one at a time, in Tamil, using option chain examples. Delta shows how much the option moves for each point the market moves. Gamma shows how fast Delta itself changes. Theta shows what you lose to time every day. Vega shows how much the price reacts to changes in volatility. We then put the four together to show how a single trade is affected by all of them.
It’s designed for traders who already know what a Call and a Put are. No maths or formulas are needed, only the practical meaning of each Greek. This is an educational session. We don’t give buy/sell recommendations, and knowing the Greeks doesn’t remove risk.
You will learn
-
Explain Delta, Gamma, Theta and Vega in your own words
-
Understand why an option’s price can fall even when the market moves in your favour
-
See how time decay (Theta) works against option buyers and for option sellers, and what that means for risk
-
Understand how volatility (Vega) can change an option’s price, with or without a market move
-
Read the Greeks on your trading platform before placing a trade
-
Choose between strikes with a better understanding of their risk
-
Avoid common mistakes, such as buying far out-of-the-money options without knowing their Delta and Theta
